New Products from Kohu Road

Those wonderful people at Kohu Road have created two new berry fruit flavours - a sorbet and an ice cream - all ready for summer. In their words,"
Kohu Road Raspberry Ice Cream is soft pink and velvety and captures the vibrant summer flavour of succulent raspberries plucked fresh from the garden. The raspberries are sourced from sunny Nelson and Chile. The whole fruit is added to the mix just before the final churn leaving beautifully textured raspberry flecks throughout. It is handmade using only milk and cream from farms in the Waikato, whole raspberries, Fairtrade sugar and egg yolk – striking the perfect balance between tart berry and creamy sweetness.
In contrast to its pretty pink cousin, the Kohu Road Blackcurrant Sorbet is a vivid deep violet sorbet with its own distinct personality. Refreshingly tart, it delivers a big, bold, brash blackcurrant flavour with a Cassis kick. It is bursting with luscious New Zealand blackcurrants grown in the South Island, which make up over a third of the ingredients and are blended simply with spring water, cane sugar, lemon and a dash of Cassis liqueur. It’s gluten free, dairy free and GE free- the perfect guilt free indulgence."
I was lucky enough to try both of these and they are as good as the marketing blurb makes out - the children's vote was for the blackcurrant sorbet and it looks wonderfully dark and brooding in a bowl!
